DPD releases Rezone, SEPA and Design Review Recommendation

DPD releases the Director’s recommendation on the Rezone, Environmental Determination EIS) and Design Review. The rezone and design review are conditionally approved and the FSEIS “adequately describes and assesses the adverse impacts of teh rezone and proposed redevelopment and that the be conditioned to mitigate impacts”.

Design Review Board holds final meeting

The Southeast Design Review Board (DRB) held its final meeting on the project. At the meeting the developer presented a plan to keep the truck entrance on Weller despite strong public opposition and prior DRB opposition to that departure. The final vote on the project was 3-2, a just-passing endorsement of the project.

DSCLN has sent a letter to the members of the Southeast Design Review Board and DPD complaining about the design review process to date and the adequacy of the review of the Goodwill project,

McIver Amendment to Comp Plan to rezone Goodwill back to Industrial!

Council member McIver puts forward a Comp Plan amendment to rezone the site BACK to Industrial. It passes, so this will be studied by Council staff.

It may be irrelevant depending on the timing of the MUP recommendation by DPD - but we think this is clearly sending a signal that the TRF proposal is not acceptable.

A cold, icy night in Seattle, and DSCLN is able to turn out over 100 supporters to Council chambers.

The Coalition states that conditionally support the amendment to the Comprehensive Plan’s future land use map spot changing the Goodwill site from Industrial to Mixed Use. The condition is that the developer strikes a Community Benefits Agreement with us.

DSCLN first letter to Peter Steinbueck

The newly formed DSCLN submits its first letter to Council. The ten member coalition indicates in a letter to Peter Steinbrueck, chair of the Urban Planning and Development Committee that it does not support the project. At this point the Coalition has 1,500 signatures on its petition opposing the project.
